Since the first reported case of COVID 19 in Kenya, and the abrupt closure of schools, our children have been engaged with the class work at the Home. At the beginning of August, they had a two weeks break and will continue early September. The home-based school has impacted positively on the performance of our children. They have improved in mathematics as well as in the languages. They speak English during weekdays and Kiswahili on weekends which they are very keen of. As a way of motivating them the Home has scheduled a price-giving day on 30 August. The prices reward different talents: e.g. academic performance, responsibility and chores, cleanliness, caring and concern of the others and others.
Dear sr. Redemptor,
Good to read that the school is started. All the little stories gives us hope. We pray for you and the children and have a fundraising in our church for Talitha Kum. May the Lord bless you abundantly. Love Rob and Els
